Intensive Marriage Therapy

God designed marriage to be a covenant of love, growth, and shared purpose — but even the strongest marriages can find themselves in seasons of deep struggle. When conflict feels unresolved and hope feels distant, traditional one-hour counseling sessions can sometimes leave couples feeling like time runs out before real breakthrough happens. Intensive marriage therapy is designed to change that.

Extended Marital Sessions

Intensive marriage therapy is concentrated and multi-hour, with regular sessions lasting two to six hours. The additional time allows couples to move past surface-level conversation, engage conflict more fully, and leave each session with greater clarity and confidence. Rather than feeling like the clock ran out, couples gain the momentum needed to carry real progress back home and into the challenges of the coming week. Extended sessions are a strong option for couples who are committed to the work and want to build steady, sustainable growth over time.

Marriage Intensive Weekends

For couples who are tired, at their wit's end, and in need of significant breakthrough, a one or two-day marriage intensive weekend offers the most concentrated path toward healing. Marital struggles don't develop overnight, and the intensive format acknowledges that — creating the space for couples to stay in the hard conversations long enough to actually cross the finish line. Rather than returning week after week to pick up where things were left off, couples emerge from an intensive weekend equipped with renewed hope, practical tools, and the confidence to navigate life together. The intensive format creates the greatest relational momentum in the shortest amount of time and is particularly well-suited for couples facing deep wounds, longstanding patterns, or an urgent need for restoration. Intensive Weekends can also be facilitated by two therapists when desired, bringing complementary perspectives to the process, ensuring that both spouses feel heard and understood, and allowing for simultaneous individual work when needed.

CPC has partnered with Dr. Stephen Bell, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who, with his wife, Tracy Bell, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has spent over 15 years walking with distressed couples through an intensive framework. Time and again, God has used this process to bring healing to individuals, stability to families, and renewed purpose to marriages that felt beyond repair.
