Frequently Asked Questions
Christian counseling at CPC combines licensed practitioners who are providing evidence-based mental health treatment but who are also doing so with a biblical perspective. Our therapists are both credentialed professionals and committed Christ-followers who integrate God's truth with evidence-based psychology — helping clients not just manage symptoms, but align their lives with God's design for flourishing.
The key difference is foundation. Rather than providing therapy that is limited to symptom reduction and personal well-being as defined by the individual, we at CPC believe that lasting peace and purpose come from living in harmony with God's truth. Our clinicians draw on the best of what mental health science has discovered — because we believe much of it reflects truths God has already revealed in Scripture — while keeping His Word as the ultimate foundation.
You don't need to hold any particular faith or be a part of a specific denomination to receive care at CPC. We welcome everyone with compassion and respect, regardless of their worldview. But for those who want their faith to be an active part of the healing process, CPC is uniquely equipped to provide that as we invite the discussion of and response to the deeply held beliefs of our clients.
To get started at CPC, click any "Request Appointment" button at cpcarkansas.com. Choose your location (Conway or Cabot), appointment type, and a clinician whose availability works for you. You can also call us at 501-450-6350 or email info@cpcarkansas.com. Once we get your request, we'll confirm your appointment or offer alternatives within one to two business days.
Before your first appointment, you'll receive access to our secure client portal. We ask that you complete any intake paperwork through the portal in advance — this helps your clinician make the most of your time together from the very first session.
For help deciding on a clinician, our Meet Our Team page includes photos and bios of each clinician as well as filters to help you narrow down the options based on factors that are important to you. If you're not sure which clinician or service is the right fit, feel free to call us. We're happy to help you find the right match.
Your first appointment at CPC is an initial evaluation focused on getting to know you and what you're struggling with. Your clinician will ask about your background, current concerns, and goals for counseling. It's a collaborative conversation — not a test. Come with any questions you have. After the evaluation, you and your clinician will together decide on next steps and a treatment plan.
Before you arrive, please complete any paperwork in the client portal — this saves valuable time and helps your clinician prepare to focus fully on you.
You don't need to have everything figured out before your first session. You don't need a clear list of goals. Part of what a good clinician does is help you make sense of what you're experiencing. Come as you are.
If you're attending via online therapy, log into the secure video platform a few minutes before your appointment time to ensure everything is working properly.
No. While our approach is rooted in a Christian worldview, CPC warmly welcomes clients of all backgrounds and beliefs. You will never be pressured into any particular faith position. Our commitment is to treat every person with dignity, compassion, and the highest standard of professional care — regardless of where you are spiritually.
For clients who do want their faith to be central to the counseling process, our therapists are fully equipped to work that way. For clients who simply want effective, professional mental health care delivered by people of strong character, you will find that here too.
The Christian perspective at CPC shows up primarily in the character of how we care — in how we listen, how we hold hope, and in the foundation of God's love that shapes how we see every person who walks through our door.
