Yes. All therapists at CPC are licensed mental health professionals, including Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Psychological Examiners (LPE-I), Licensed Psychologists, and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT). Our team also includes psychiatric providers who are Medical Doctors (MD) or psychiatric-specialized Advanced Practice Nurses (APRN). Credentials are listed on our Meet Our Team page (/meet-our-team)at cpcarkansas.com.(http://cpcarkansas.com)
CPC's clinicians hold not only their state licensure but also specialized certifications in areas such as Thanatology (grief and bereavement), EMDR, trauma-informed approaches, and Smart Stepfamily therapy. We are committed to ongoing training and staying current with the most effective, evidence-based treatments available.
Being a Christ-follower and being a fully licensed, highly trained professional are not in tension — at CPC, they are complementary. We bring both to every session.
Yes. Therapy is one of the most effective treatments available for depression and anxiety. At CPC, licensed therapists use evidence-based approaches — including cognitive-behavioral (CBT) techniques — combined with a faith perspective to help clients identify what is driving their symptoms and develop lasting strategies for relief. Many clients experience meaningful improvement within weeks of beginning treatment.
Depression and anxiety can make life feel smaller than it should be. They can rob you of energy, joy, clarity, and the ability to engage fully in your relationships and your purpose. You don't have to accept that as your normal.
Individual therapy (/individual-therapy)at CPC helps adults explore the roots of their depression or anxiety, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop practical coping tools, and — for those who desire it — understand how their faith and their struggles intersect. For some clients, medication management (/medication-management)alongside therapy produces the best outcomes, and our psychiatric team is available for that as well.
You are not broken. You are not beyond help. Please reach out.
Christian counseling at CPC combines licensed practitioners who are providing evidence-based mental health treatment but who are also doing so with a biblical perspective. Our therapists are both credentialed professionals and committed Christ-followers who integrate God's truth with evidence-based psychology — helping clients not just manage symptoms, but align their lives with God's design for flourishing.
The key difference is foundation. Rather than providing therapy that is limited to symptom reduction and personal well-being as defined by the individual, we at CPC believe that lasting peace and purpose come from living in harmony with God's truth. Our clinicians draw on the best of what mental health science has discovered — because we believe much of it reflects truths God has already revealed in Scripture — while keeping His Word as the ultimate foundation.
You don't need to hold any particular faith or be a part of a specific denomination to receive care at CPC. We welcome everyone with compassion and respect, regardless of their worldview. But for those who want their faith to be an active part of the healing process, CPC is uniquely equipped to provide that as we invite the discussion of and response to the deeply held beliefs of our clients.
Initial evaluation appointments at CPC may last up to 90 minutes. Standard ongoing therapy sessions are 50 minutes. Intensive marriage therapy sessions run 2 to 6 hours. Initial psychiatric appointments are 60 minutes with medication checks lasting 30 minutes. If you need a longer session, your clinician can arrange this in advance — extended time is billed in 15-minute increments but may not be covered by insurance.

Clients are responsible for payment at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, and credit and debit cards. We can sometimes help clients use out-of-network benefits as well, depending on the insurance provider. Please call us at 501-450-6350 or email info@cpcarkansas.com (mailto:info@cpcarkansas.com)to discuss your specific plan.
Please note: clients are ultimately responsible for any balance not covered by insurance after we have made every effort to utilize your benefits.

Yes. CPC offers online therapy (/online-therapy)for clients throughout Arkansas via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Whether you're in Little Rock, Fayetteville, Jonesboro, Fort Smith, or anywhere else in the state, you can meet with a licensed clinician from anywhere you have a private internet connection. Most major insurance plans cover online therapy sessions. To schedule, request an online appointment at cpcarkansas.com (http://cpcarkansas.com)or call 501-450-6350.
Online therapy at CPC is not a lesser version of in-person care. You will work with the same licensed clinicians, using the same evidence-based approaches, toward the same goals. Research consistently shows that online therapy is as effective as in-person sessions for most struggles.
All you need is a device with a camera and microphone — a phone, tablet, or laptop — and a private space where you can speak freely. When requesting your appointment, simply note that you prefer online therapy, and we will set you up with the video access information before your first session.
Yes. Everything you share in counseling at CPC is kept strictly confidential under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). There are a small number of legally required exceptions — including imminent risk of harm to self or others, and mandated reporting of child or elder abuse — which your clinician will explain fully in your first session.
Confidentiality is foundational to the counseling relationship. You cannot do honest, deep work if you are worried about what you say leaving the room. Your privacy is something we take seriously and protect carefully.
If you are using insurance, your insurer will receive the minimum information legally required to process your claim — typically a diagnosis code and treatment type. No session notes or detailed clinical information are shared beyond what is required.
For our full Privacy Policy, click the button below.
Most clients begin therapy at CPC with weekly sessions, which tend to produce the fastest progress. As symptoms ease and goals are met, session frequency typically tapers — from weekly to every other week, then monthly, until therapy is no longer needed. Your clinician will revisit this regularly based on your evolving needs and goals.
Session frequency depends on several factors: the intensity of distress you're experiencing, the amount of clinician support needed for treatment to be effective, how quickly you want to make progress, and cost considerations.
Some clients choose to maintain weekly sessions throughout their treatment. Others taper more quickly. There is no single right answer — the goal is always to find the frequency that serves your growth best while respecting your life and your budget.
For psychiatric appointments, frequency is typically every other week initially to monitor medication effectiveness and side effects, then every one to six months for ongoing medication checks.
Yes. CPC specializes in trauma therapy (/trauma-therapy)using the most effective evidence-based approaches available, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Brainspotting. These treatments are proven to reduce trauma symptoms and PTSD — and CPC delivers them with a compassionate, faith-informed perspective.
Many people don't realize they are carrying the effects of trauma. Trauma is not just the result of dramatic events like combat or natural disasters — it can develop from childhood neglect, abusive relationships, accidents, losses, or prolonged stress. If you find yourself feeling stuck, reacting intensely to ordinary situations, struggling to sleep, or feeling disconnected from your life and relationships, trauma may be a factor.
EMDR, CPT, and Brainspotting each work in different ways to help the brain process what has happened and reduce its ongoing impact on your daily life. Your clinician at CPC will help determine which approach is the best fit for your specific situation.
Healing from trauma is possible. We have walked with many clients through this — and we would be honored to walk with you.
Therapists and counselors (LPC, LPE, Psychologists, LCSW, LMFT) provide talk therapy and behavioral interventions for the experiential struggle clients are experiencing. Psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners are medical providers who help clients by evaluating and prescribe medication to address the chemical aspect of clients' struggle. CPC offers both — licensed therapists for counseling and psychiatric providers for medication management — often working together on the same treatment.
Licensed Therapists and Counselors at CPC include Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Licensed Psychological Examiners (LPE-I), Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT). They work with you in regular sessions to help you process emotions, change behaviors, improve relationships, and address mental health concerns through conversation and evidence-based techniques.
Psychiatric Providers at CPC are medical professionals who evaluate your psychiatric needs, prescribe and monitor mental health medications, and work collaboratively with your therapist. CPC takes a multidisciplinary approach — meaning your therapist and psychiatry provider communicate and coordinate your care together.
Many clients at CPC work with both a therapist and a psychiatric provider simultaneously, which research shows produces the best outcomes for many conditions.
Yes. CPC offers evidence-based counseling for adults struggling with addiction and substance abuse (/addiction-substance-abuse-therapy)in Conway and Cabot, AR. Services are delivered through weekly individual therapy sessions and may include relevant family members. This is outpatient counseling — not residential treatment — but may meet some court-ordered counseling requirements. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.
Addiction is not a moral failure. It is a complex condition involving the brain, the body, emotions, and often unresolved pain. At CPC, we provide a space free from judgment where you can do honest, meaningful work toward freedom from substance use.
We also understand that addiction rarely exists in isolation. It is often connected to depression, anxiety, trauma, or relational wounds. Our clinicians address these underlying issues alongside the substance use, because sustainable recovery always requires treating the whole person.
Family members can be involved in the therapeutic process when appropriate, as the ripple effects of addiction affect the entire family system.
Yes, CPC offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) (/trauma-therapy)therapy in Conway and Cabot, AR, and via online therapy throughout Arkansas. EMDR is an extensively researched, evidence-based treatment for trauma and PTSD. It uses bilateral stimulation — typically guided eye movements — to help reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic memories.
EMDR is an eight-phase structured therapy that helps the brain process traumatic memories that have become "stuck." Rather than having clients talk extensively about trauma, EMDR uses brief focused attention on traumatic memories combined with bilateral stimulation to reduce their vividness and emotional charge.
EMDR is recognized by the American Psychological Association, the World Health Organization, and the Department of Veterans Affairs as an effective treatment for PTSD and trauma. Many clients experience meaningful relief in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy alone.
CPC also offers other trauma therapies, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) (/trauma-therapy)and Brainspotting.(/trauma-therapy) Your clinician will help determine which approach is best for your specific situation.
CPC is not currently in-network with Medicaid or Medicare. We are also not in-network with United Healthcare. If you have one of these plans, we encourage you to contact us anyway — we may be able to help you explore out-of-network options, sliding scale fees, or lower-cost alternatives depending on your situation.
We are committed to making care as accessible as possible, and we never want financial limitations to be the final word. Please call us at 501-450-6350 or e-mail us at info@cpcarkansas.com (mailto:info@cpcarkansas.com)to have an honest conversation about your options.
CPC requires at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Missed or late-cancelled appointments incur a $50 fee. True emergencies are handled with compassion and will not be charged. Repeated missed appointments may result in full session fees or a pause in services. Initial evaluations and psychiatric appointments missed without notice are billed at the full rate.
We understand that life happens. If a genuine emergency prevents you from keeping your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible and we will work with you. What we ask is that, whenever possible, you give us at least 48 hours' notice so we have the opportunity to offer that time to another client who needs it.
For our full cancellation and attendance policy, click the button below.
Yes, CPC offers Spravato® (esketamine) nasal spray treatment (/spravato)in Conway, AR for adults with treatment-resistant depression — meaning depression that has not responded adequately to at least two antidepressant medications. Spravato is FDA-approved, administered under clinical supervision, and is covered by many insurance plans.
Spravato is a breakthrough treatment for people whose depression has not improved with standard antidepressants. It works differently from traditional antidepressants by targeting the NMDA receptor system in the brain, often producing faster results.
At CPC, Spravato is administered in our clinical setting under the supervision of our psychiatric team. The session involves self-administering the nasal spray at the clinic, followed by a monitoring period. Your care team will evaluate whether Spravato is appropriate for your situation and guide you through the process.
To find out if Spravato may be right for you, complete our online questionnaire (https://www.cpcarkansas.com/spravato)or request an appointment at cpcarkansas.com.(http://cpcarkansas.com)
Yes. CPC offers counseling for grief (/grief-loss-therapy)after miscarriage and pregnancy loss in Conway and Cabot, AR. This is recognized as disenfranchised grief — a real and significant loss that is too often dismissed. Our clinicians, including those Certified in Thanatology, provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space for this very real grieving process.
Losing a pregnancy — at any stage — is a profound loss. Yet it is frequently minimized or met with awkward silence by those around you. You may feel isolated in your grief, unsure whether what you're feeling is "normal," or pressured to move on before you're ready.
Your grief is real. Your loss is real. And you deserve support.
CPC's grief clinicians are trained to walk with you through exactly this kind of loss — with care, with patience, and with a deep respect for the full weight of what you have experienced.
Yes. CPC offers lower-cost therapy options for clients who need them. You can learn about these options on our Cost-Conscious Options page.(https://www.cpcarkansas.com/cost-conscious-options) You can also always contact us — call 501-450-6350 or email info@cpcarkansas.com (mailto:info@cpcarkansas.com)— so we can review your insurance benefits and discuss available options before your first appointment. We never want cost to be the only barrier between you and the help you need.
Options may vary based on clinician availability and service type. We also encourage clients without insurance to ask about our cost-conscious options page on the website, which outlines additional pathways to affordable counseling in the Conway and Cabot areas.
A formal mental health diagnosis is not always required at CPC. If you choose not to use insurance, a diagnosis is typically not needed. When insurance is used, most plans require a diagnosis to establish medical necessity for coverage. Your clinician will discuss this with you openly, and only the minimum necessary information is ever shared with your insurer.
Some people worry that a mental health diagnosis will follow them or affect their employment or insurance rates. For many of the issues people bring to counseling — including stress, relationship difficulties, and life transitions — any diagnosis assigned has effectively no practical impact, similar to a doctor diagnosing a minor illness.
It's also worth noting that some services, such as marital therapy, often do not warrant a clinical diagnosis. This may mean those services are not covered by insurance, and your clinician will help you understand the financial and clinical implications before you proceed.
Your privacy is protected under HIPAA. Your health information, including any diagnosis, will only be shared with your insurance provider to the minimum extent required to process your claim. To view CPC's full Privacy Policy, click the button below.

Yes. CPC offers premarital counseling, marriage therapy, and intensive marriage therapy (/premarital-marriage-intensive-marriage-therapy)in Conway and Cabot, AR, and online throughout Arkansas. Sessions are led by licensed therapists with extensive experience in relationship work. Both traditional weekly sessions and multi-hour intensive formats are available for couples needing concentrated support.
Premarital counseling helps engaged couples build a strong relational foundation, understand each other more deeply, and develop skills for communication and conflict before challenges arise.
Marriage therapy helps couples who are already experiencing conflict, disconnection, or deeper wounds — including the aftermath of infidelity, communication breakdown, or seasons of growing apart.
Intensive marriage therapy,(/intensive-marriage-therapy) offered by Dr. Stephen Bell, LMFT, provides extended sessions (two to six hours) or weekend intensives (one to two days) for couples who need significant breakthrough and cannot wait for weekly progress. This format is particularly effective for couples in crisis or those with long-standing patterns that feel impossible to break.
When requesting your appointment, please indicate that you are seeking premarital, marriage, or intensive marriage therapy.
Absolutely. You do not need to be suffering from a serious condition to benefit from counseling at CPC. Many of our clients come to us navigating significant life stress, burnout, major transitions — a job change, a move, a health diagnosis, the loss of a relationship — or simply the feeling that something is off. Counseling can help you find clarity, build resilience, and reconnect with purpose.
One of the most persistent myths about therapy is that it's only for people in crisis. The truth is that counseling is for anyone who wants to live more fully — who wants to think more clearly, relate more deeply, and move through hard seasons with more grace and less pain.
At CPC, we help clients identify what is getting in the way of their effectiveness and wellbeing — and then work toward real, lasting change. That process is valuable whether you're in a clinical crisis or simply carrying more than you can comfortably hold.
Yes. CPC provides confidential counseling and consultation for pastors, executives, ministry leaders, entrepreneurs, attorneys, and others in high-pressure professional roles. We understand the unique strains and expectations these roles carry — and we provide a safe, discreet space to address personal wellbeing, leadership challenges, and spiritual health.
People in highly visible leadership roles often delay seeking help because of the stigma, the perceived need to appear strong, or the concern that seeking therapy might undermine others' confidence in them. We understand those concerns — and we are committed to the kind of professional confidentiality that makes honest work possible.
CPC also offers organizational consultation for churches, ministries, and businesses seeking mental health support for their teams. Visit our Consultation and Trainings page (/consultation-collaboration-and-trainings)to learn more.
Yes. CPC offers therapy for children and adolescents (/child-parent-therapy)at our Conway and Cabot locations and via online therapy throughout Arkansas. We help young people navigate behavioral challenges, anxiety, depression, social struggles, trauma, and more — while equipping parents with practical tools to support their child at home.
Watching your child struggle is one of the hardest things a parent experiences. Our clinicians are trained to work with children and adolescents in age-appropriate ways — meeting them where they are and helping them develop the skills they need to thrive.
We also believe strongly that healthy parent-child relationships are central to a child's emotional wellbeing. That's why we actively involve parents in the therapeutic process, teaching you how to effectively support your child's growth through behavior management, understanding your child's unique perspective, and your own self-care.
When requesting an appointment for a child, please note that you are seeking child and parent therapy.
Yes. CPC offers grief and loss therapy (/grief-loss-therapy)in Conway and Cabot, AR, led by clinicians who are Certified in Thanatology (CT) — the highest level of specialized training in grief, death, and bereavement. We support clients through all forms of loss, including death of a loved one, miscarriage, divorce, pet loss, and disenfranchised grief.
Grief is not one-size-fits-all. It takes a multitude of shapes and is experienced differently by every person — even people in the same family impacted by the same loss. CPC provides a safe place where you and your family can receive support, biblical guidance, and effective treatment tailored to your specific experience.
We also specialize in disenfranchised grief — losses that are sometimes minimized or dismissed by society, such as the loss of a relationship, a miscarriage, suicide loss, or the grief of children who are often overlooked as grievers.
If you are in acute grief or have been struggling to move forward after a loss, please reach out. You do not have to carry this alone.
Yes. Prior to requesting an appointment at CPC, you can use our Meet Our Team page (/meet-our-team)to browse available clinicians, view their specialties, and choose the one whose availability and focus area fits your needs. You can also call us at 501-450-6350 and our team will help match you with the right clinician based on your specific situation and goals.
The therapeutic relationship matters. Research consistently shows that the quality of the relationship between a client and their therapist is one of the strongest predictors of good outcomes. We want you to feel confident in and trust who you're working with.
If, after beginning therapy, you feel the fit isn't quite right, please don't hesitate to speak with us. We can discuss options and help you find a better match within our team.
Yes. CPC partners with churches, schools, businesses, and ministries throughout Arkansas to provide mental health consultation, subsidized counseling for members and employees, and professional training on topics like suicide prevention, stress management, trauma awareness, and team cohesion. Contact info@cpcarkansas.com (mailto:info@cpcarkansas.com)to discuss a customized partnership.
Past partnerships have included: consulting with public school staff on workplace challenges, providing church-subsidized counseling for congregants, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and wellness counseling for corporations, training teams on suicide risk assessment, classroom management, appropriate professional boundaries, parenting coordination, and marital health.
CPC's team can also consult individually with pastors, attorneys, executives, and entrepreneurs to help them navigate their professional roles from a mental health perspective.

Yes. CPC offers co-parenting counseling (/coparenting-blended-families)for divorced or separated parents who want to collaborate more effectively for the well-being of their children. CPC is also a Recognized Smart Stepfamily Therapy Provider, offering specialized support for blended families, and provides parenting coordination services for high-conflict custody situations.
Co-parenting counseling helps separated or divorced parents develop communication strategies, manage conflict productively, and keep their children's well-being as the shared focus — even when the relationship between the parents is difficult.
Blended family therapy (/coparenting-blended-families)helps parents, stepparents, and children navigate the complex dynamics that arise when families form through remarriage. Sarah Lindsey, LPC has specific training in this area as a Recognized Smart Stepfamily Therapy Provider.(https://smartstepfamilies.com/smart-help/therapy-providers)
Parenting coordination (/parenting-coordination)is a more structured service designed for high-conflict custody situations. It involves working closely with both parents, their attorneys, and sometimes the court to ensure children are protected from conflict and that parents collaborate effectively day to day. Please note that parenting coordination has limited availability — call us to discuss your situation.
CPC is unique in offering both licensed, evidence-based mental health care and a deeply held Christian perspective — not one or the other. Our team includes clinicians with specialized credentials in areas such as grief (CT), trauma (EMDR, CPT, Brainspotting), and blended family therapy (Smart Stepfamily), as well as psychiatric providers. We also offer intensive marriage therapy, Spravato, and organizational partnerships — a fuller range of services than most practices.
What makes CPC genuinely different:
Faith and Science Together: We are licensed mental health professionals who are also committed Christ-followers. We don't have to choose between good therapy and a biblical foundation — we bring both.
Specialized Credentials: Clinicians Certified in Thanatology for grief care. Trained and certified EMDR therapists. A Recognized Smart Stepfamily Therapy Provider. Dr. Stephen Bell, LMFT with 15+ years of intensive marriage therapy experience.
Integrated Psychiatric Care: Our psychiatric team works alongside therapists for a true multidisciplinary approach.
Intensive Marriage Therapy: Multi-hour extended sessions and full weekend intensives for couples who need more than weekly hours.
Spravato: One of the few practices in Arkansas offering this breakthrough treatment for treatment-resistant depression.
Multiple Locations and Online Therapy: Conway, Cabot, and anywhere in Arkansas via telehealth.
Yes — therapy is one of the most well-researched and effective interventions in all of healthcare. Decades of research show that counseling produces meaningful, lasting improvement for depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship problems, and many other challenges. At CPC, we are committed to using evidence-based approaches — and we have seen the difference they make in people's lives.
It's worth being honest: therapy takes effort. It requires showing up, being open, and doing work — sometimes uncomfortable work — between sessions. It is not a quick fix. But for people who engage genuinely, the results are often transformative.
We also believe that transformation is not only psychological — it is spiritual. At CPC, we hold to the conviction that God is at work in the healing process, that He is not indifferent to your struggles, and that He is able to do far more than we could ask or imagine. That conviction is not just a philosophical position — it is something we carry into every session as active hope on your behalf.
You are worth the investment. And the help you're looking for is real.
Your first appointment at CPC is an initial evaluation focused on getting to know you and what you're struggling with. Your clinician will ask about your background, current concerns, and goals for counseling. It's a collaborative conversation — not a test. Come with any questions you have. After the evaluation, you and your clinician will together decide on next steps and a treatment plan.
Before you arrive, please complete any paperwork in the client portal (therapyportal.com/p/cpcarkansas)— this saves valuable time and helps your clinician prepare to focus fully on you.
You don't need to have everything figured out before your first session. You don't need a clear list of goals. Part of what a good clinician does is help you make sense of what you're experiencing. Come as you are.
If you're attending via online therapy, log into the secure video platform a few minutes before your appointment time to ensure everything is working properly.
No. While our approach is rooted in a Christian worldview, CPC warmly welcomes clients of all backgrounds and beliefs. You will never be pressured into any particular faith position. Our commitment is to treat every person with dignity, compassion, and the highest standard of professional care — regardless of where you are spiritually.
For clients who do want their faith to be central to the counseling process, our therapists are fully equipped to work that way. For clients who simply want effective, professional mental health care delivered by people of strong character, you will find that here too.
The Christian perspective at CPC shows up primarily in the character of how we care — in how we listen, how we hold hope, and in the foundation of God's love that shapes how we see every person who walks through our door.
CPC has four locations: two counseling spaces in Conway (1312 Donaghey Avenue and 4055 Seraph Drive, Suites 1 & 2), one psychiatry suite in Conway (950 Hogan Lane, Suite 6), and one in Cabot (122 South 2nd Street). Online therapy is also available for clients anywhere in Arkansas. Call 501-450-6350 for directions or questions.
