Psychiatric/Medication Intakes: 60 minutes
Psychiatric/Medication Checks: 30 minutes; often every other week initially, then monthly or less frequently once stable.
How often will I need to come to therapy?
Most clients begin therapy at CPC with weekly sessions, which tend to produce the fastest progress. As symptoms ease and goals are met, session frequency typically tapers — from weekly to every other week, then monthly, until therapy is no longer needed. Your clinician will revisit this regularly based on your evolving needs and goals.
Session frequency depends on several factors: the intensity of distress you're experiencing, the amount of clinician support needed for treatment to be effective, how quickly you want to make progress, and cost considerations.
Some clients choose to maintain weekly sessions throughout their treatment. Others taper more quickly. There is no single right answer — the goal is always to find the frequency that serves your growth best while respecting your life and your budget.
For psychiatric appointments, frequency is typically every other week initially to monitor medication effectiveness and side effects, then every one to six months for ongoing medication checks.
What is your cancellation policy?
CPC requires at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Missed or late-cancelled appointments incur a $50 fee. True emergencies are handled with compassion and will not be charged. Repeated missed appointments may result in full session fees or a pause in services. Initial evaluations and psychiatric appointments missed without notice are billed at the full rate.
We understand that life happens. If a genuine emergency prevents you from keeping your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible and we will work with you.
